Welcome to Northern Illinois Counseling Associates.

Northern Illinois Counseling Associates, P.C. (NICA) is a privately-owned Clinical Psychology practice located in West Dundee, Illinois.

NICA is where you go when you are in need of authentic, deep-structure healing. We are not “feel-good” doctors but we are the doctors who may be able to help you be good.

Larry B. Gelman, Psy.D. and Glenn B. Gelman, Psy.D. are devoted brothers and long-time professional practice partners. Each of us has more than forty (40) years of extensive and intensive clinical psychology experience across virtually all levels of mental health care.

Rather than only focusing on the obvious symptoms of your presenting problem and then rushing in prematurly to implement a knee-jerk course of action, we take time to meaningfully understand and contextualize the deeper nature of your concerns to help you get to the root of your problem/s. We then work diligently with you to find solutions so that you can healthily live your life going forward.

Many of our clients often report meaningful therapeutic benefits after only a few sessions. For others, time, space, and perspective are often required to help heal lifelong emotional wounds.
